Tillandsia usneoides, also known as the Spanish Moss, is one of the most popular species in Singapore due to its bushy long appearance. When grown in cool airflow and moderate humidity environments, the strain will grow long to form a curtain. There are also quite a few varieties for collectors to choose from.
Sunlight: Spanish moss grows well in bright or shady environments, but does not like direct sunlight. This species will tolerate a range of temperatures, from very warm to cool indoor conditions. However, avoid moving it once acclimatised, as it will not respond well to sudden changes in its living conditions.
Water: Since its leaves are so thin, Spanish moss is prone to dehydration and prefers to be in a place with high humidity. To keep it healthy, mist it regularly, as much as once every day in the warmest months, and soak it once a week.
Fertiliser: Feed with a diluted fertilizer (diluted) in a misting bottle once a month.
Plant size: Approx 60cm (vary in sizes)
Pot Type: Air plants are attached to a hanging metal wire with a decorative shell.
