The Schismatoglottis Wallichii is definitely one of our personal favourites. These ornamental perennials can grow lush a bushy indoors and are highly decorative.
Plant Care - Schismatoglottis Wallichii
Light: Place your Schismatoglottis Wallichii under bright, indirect sunlight and avoid direct sunlight, which will cause its leaves to turn yellow. Too much exposure to direct sunlight and high temperatures will cause the plant to dry up, and leaves to turn yellow and wilt.
Water: Allow the top surface of the soil to dry up between watering the plant. We recommend watering it once a week or whenever necessary. Overwatering your Philodendron can cause water beds, resulting in root problems. Droopy leaves are a good sign of overwatering. Therefore you should skip a week of watering.
Fertiliser: Fertilise with a slow-release granular fertiliser. Over-fertilising can also result in the demise of the plant. Always follow the fertiliser manufacturer's instructions when fertilising your plant.
Humidity Requirement: Medium to High. The Schismatoglottis love and thrive in humid environments as they are tropical plants. Group them with other plants or give your plant a mist to increase the humidity levels
Fun Facts about the Schismatoglottis genus: Did you know? Plants in the Schismatoglottis genus have similar appearance and growing habits to plants in the Homalemena genus, though both are not closely related!
