Hibiscus sabdariffa Linn. (HS) is thought to have originated in Tropical Africa or Asia, India to Malaysia, and can grow up to 3.5m in height. Its leaves are alternate, producing yellow flowers with red calyxes that mature into red fruits with small light brown, kidney-shaped seeds. This plant is known as roselle, and its calyces produce a red tea commonly referred to as Karkade.

Water: Water when soil feels dry to the touch, do not over-water.
Fertiliser: Keep your plant in top form by feeding it every few weeks with a dilute solution of liquid fertiliser or solid fertiliser over the soil.
