Ficus lyrata in Black Square Cylinder Tall Pot

$204.40

Ficus lyrata, also known as the Fiddle Leaf Fig, is slow-growing but hardy, prefers full sun but takes bright filtered light when young. Ficus lyrata is a popular houseplant as it gives off a simplistic & modern plant design that pairs nicely with neutral colours and trendy interior decorations. It requires lots of care, as it can be a finicky plant.

The Square Cylinder series is available with an ‘easy insert’ for easy planting, which saves you no less than 30% the potting soil. Repotting will now be far easier as 30% less potting compost will be needed.

Here's how to take care of Ficus lyrata, Fiddle Leaf Fig (0.5m)

Sunlight: Partial sunlight

Water: When watering Ficus lyrata, make sure the soil is thoroughly soaked and drain off the excess water. Keep soil moderately moist and water when the top one inch of soil is dry. Avoid over-watering and do not allow pot to stand in excess water.

Fertiliser: Keep plant in top form by feeding the plants every few weeks with a dilute solution of liquid fertiliser or sprinkling solid fertiliser over the soil.

 TIPS

Soil for Potted Plants

Ficus lyrata should be grown in fertilised potting mix. Make or buy a fertilised mix which consist of coco peat moss or coconut fiber (coir), vermiculite or perlite, compost and other ingredients. A lightweight soil for potted plants needs to provide good drainage, hold moisture, and give roots room to grow.

Light Requirements

All plants depend on light for their survival, and making sure your Ficus lyrata get the right amount of light is key to keeping them happy. For both indoor and outdoor containers, group plants with similar light requirements. Don't mix shade lovers with sun lovers in a single pot; one or both of them will be unhappy, depending on where you place the pot.
