Aloe vera (L.) Burm.f., also known as Barbados Aloe, is a very popular plant due to its uses. Its clear, tasteless flesh can be chopped and added raw to beverages and desserts. The leaves contain a clear gel that can be applied topically to minor cuts and burns to promote healing. In Singapore, it grows well in pots that are sheltered from the rain. It is susceptible to fungal disease, so try to keep the leaves dry and keep soil from splashing on the leaves.

How to take care of the Aloe Vera:
Sunlight: Full to Partial Sunlight
Water: Water deeply, but infrequently, allowing top 1-3 cm of soil to dry out between watering.
Fertiliser: Keep your plant in top form by feeding it every few weeks with a dilute solution of liquid fertiliser or sprinkling solid fertiliser over the soil.
