Epsom Salts (500g)

$20.10

Epsom Salt is a highly soluble form of magnesium sulfate, two elements that play vital roles in the uptake of phosphorus and nitrogen in plants, as well as the production of several plant enzymes. Magnesium sulfate is also essential for healthy growth and development of plants, production of chlorophyll and also giving plants their healthy green colour.

Before application, it is best to test your soil to determine whether it is deficient of magnesium. Many plants are capable of growing in soils with low magnesium level. However, plants such as roses, tomatoes and peppers require lots of magnesium, and therefore, are more commonly watered with Epsom salt.

Benefits:

· Helps with phosphorous absorption

· Increases natural resistance to disease

· Absorbed by both roots and leaves

· Deters pests such as snails and slugs

· Increases over output of plants

· Improves overall plant health

Epsom Salt is easily taken up by plants when diluted with water, especially if applied as a foliar spray. For most plants, mist a solution of 30g (2 Tablespoons) per gallon of water once a month, or 15g (1 Tablespoon) per gallon once every fortnight.

Roses: Spray a solution of 15g per foot of the shrub s height per gallon (eg 30g per gallon if shrubs is 2 feet high) every fortnight.

Tomatoes & Peppers: Apply 15g around each transplant or spray with a 15g per gallon solution during transplanting and again after first bloom and fruit set.
