Bougainvillaea is also known as the 'paper flower' because the bracts are thin and papery. The bracts are actually modified leaves that look like flowers. Its flowers are small and generally white and is surrounded by three or six bracts with the bright colours associated with the plant, including pink, magenta, purple, red, orange, white, or yellow. It is a thorny ornamental plant with waxy flowers.

Water: Water when the soil feels dry to the touch, do not over-water.
Fertiliser: Keep your plant in top form by feeding it every few weeks with a dilute solution of liquid fertiliser or solid fertiliser over the soil.
