Dianthus chinensis (Chinese Pink) is a short-lived perennial prized for its abundance of colorful, flat, single flowers adorned with heavily fringed petals & a dark central eye. Blooming over a long period of time, the flowers often bloom in bicolored combinations. They are best grown in average, dry to medium moisture, well-drained soils in full sun, but appreciate some afternoon shade. They should be deadheaded and trimmed after periods of heavy bloom to encourage additional flowering.
Sunlight: Partial sunlight preferred.
Water: 3-4 times a week. It requires well-drained soil.
Fertiliser: Recommends slow-release nitrocote or organic lactobacillus Aquis fertilizer.
