Pussy Willow sprays are very popular Chinese New Year decorative plants. Pussy Willows' name in Chinese is ‘银柳’, which translates to ‘Silver Willow’ which also sounds like ‘Silver Coin’; having a Pussy Willow plant in a Chinese household means an abundance of silver coins, which signifies good luck and wealth. These cut branches can last for months, place them in water or a floral foam and feel free to decorate the branches with Chinese New Year ornaments. Each bundle consists of a dozen Pussy Willow branches.

TIPS

Soil for Pussy Willow

Pussy Willow cuttings do not need to be planted in soil to bloom, simply place the base of the cuttings into water or a soaked floral foam. Remember to change water in vases regularly to prevent mosquito breeding and odours.

Light Requirements

All plants depend on light for their survival, and making sure your plants get the right amount of light is key to keeping them happy. For both indoor and outdoor containers, group plants with similar light requirements. Don't mix shade lovers with sun lovers in a single pot; one or both of them will be unhappy, depending on where you place the pot.
